EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic approach developed by American psychologist Dr. Francine Shapiro. It is widely researched and proven effective for treating trauma and other mental health issues. EMDR uses non-hypnotic psychotherapeutic methods, including eye movements, to reduce distress associated with traumatic events.

This therapy replicates the natural brain activity during REM sleep, helping to process adverse events stored in the brain that are no longer controlled by past circumstances. When a negative life experience is sufficiently processed in EMDR therapy, the old emotions and sensations associated with this experience are no longer experienced when recalled.
